HCMC – The capital city of Hanoi has received an additional 418,100 doses of the Chinese-made Vero Cell Covid-19 vaccine from the Ministry of Health, said a city health official.
The doses have already been allocated to 13 districts in the city: Long Bien, Dong Da, Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Soc Son, Quoc Oai, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen, Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, Son Tay, Dan Phuong and Phuc Tho, the local media reported.
The priority groups for vaccination include unvaccinated people aged over 18 with underlying health conditions, women 13 weeks pregnant and over, people aged over 65, frontline healthcare workers, employees of supply chains for essential services and those receiving the first shot of the Vero Cell vaccine made by Chinese firm Sinopharm.
According to the Hanoi CDC, the city administered over 56,700 doses from 6 p.m. on September 13 to 6 a.m. today. On September 13 alone, it administered nearly 250,000 doses.
Between September 11 and 12, the city administered over 980,000 doses. Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem and Soc Soc are among the districts where all residents aged over 18 have got the first shot.
Up to now, the capital city has administered more than 4.7 million doses in total. Of them, some 4.3 million people were given the first shot and over 400,000 people got the second dose.
