HCMC – Hanoi City has approved a project to complete the wastewater collection system around West Lake, with an estimated budget of VND99 billion.
The funding will come from Tay Ho District’s budget.
The Hanoi People’s Committee has designated the Tay Ho District People’s Committee as the project’s investor, with relevant departments and agencies coordinating efforts to ensure timely implementation. The project is set to be carried out from 2025 to 2027.
The initiative includes a partially separated sewer system featuring separation wells, interceptor sewers, a transfer pumping station, and a pressure pipeline.
The system is designed to handle maximum wastewater flow, incorporating three transfer pumping stations, 20 wastewater separation wells, 120 inspection manholes, around 6.9 kilometers of sewers, and 0.9 kilometers of pressure pipelines.
The project aims to establish a comprehensive wastewater collection and transfer system, connecting to the existing Phase 1 and Phase 2 West Lake wastewater collection systems. This will lay the groundwork for a fully separated drainage system around the lake.
By preventing pollution discharge into West Lake, the project is expected to contribute to the lake’s environmental restoration while ensuring future expansion and improved connectivity of the drainage infrastructure in the area.
