HCMC – HCMC has resolved procedural bottlenecks for 670 stalled projects worth more than VND569 trillion.

The update was delivered during a working session on December 9 between Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and the HCMC government, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Tran Van Bay, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, said the city has worked with central agencies to review and address issues for 670 out of 838 long-delayed projects.

For 60 projects and land sites under central authority, 31 have been resolved. In the former HCMC administrative area, the resolution rate reached 73%, or 22 out of 30 projects.

Following the administrative merger earlier this year, the city now has 838 outstanding projects and land sites requiring attention. Local departments are continuing to review and accelerate solutions.

Deputy PM Binh said clearing long-delayed projects would help prevent wastefulness and release significant financial and land resources to support economic growth. He praised the city’s efforts and noted that the central Government will submit a draft resolution to the National Assembly seeking broader solutions for resolving obstacles faced by businesses.
