HCMC – The HCMC People’s Committee today, September 30, appointed Tran Quang Lam as director of the city’s Department of Construction.
Lam, 52, replaces Vo Hoang Ngan, who has been transferred to the Department of Planning and Architecture to serve as director.
Lam holds a master’s degree in engineering and has nearly 30 years of experience in transport and construction.
He was deputy director of the HCMC Department of Transport (now merged with the Department of Construction) in 2014 and became its director in 2019. In March 2025, he was appointed director of the Department of Transport and Public Works.
After the Department of Public Works was merged into the Department of Construction in mid-2025, Lam was named acting director and later deputy director of the Department of Construction.
