HCMC Finance Dept has new director

HCMC – Nguyen Hoang Hai, director of the HCMC State Treasury, has been appointed as director of the HCMC Department of Finance, according to local media reports.

The chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, Phan Van Mai, presented the decision on the appointment of Nguyen Hoang Hai as head of the HCMC Department of Finance for a term of five years this afternoon, June 5.

Hai, born in 1968 in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long, holds a Master’s degree in economics and a Bachelor’s degree in political economics.

Previously, he served as deputy director of the HCMC State Treasury, then assumed the position of director of the State Treasury of Can Tho City. In March 2020, he was named director of the HCMC State Treasury.

On the same day, the local government leadership announced the appointment of Tran Van Bay, 53, to the post of chief inspector of HCMC, replacing Dang Minh Dat, who has retired. Before the appointment, Bay had served as deputy director of the HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
