Local gold prices dip further

HCMC – Domestic gold bar prices declined further to VND78 million per tael this afternoon, June 5, thereby narrowing the disparity with global prices to just over VND5 million per tael, said the Vietnam News Agency.

At around 2 p.m. today, Doji, a jewelry firm in Hanoi, quoted its gold bar prices at VND76.88 million per tael for buying and VND77.98 million per tael for selling, down by VND1 million per tael compared to this morning.

Similarly, Saigon Jewelry Company in HCMC bought the yellow metal at VND76.48 million per tael and sold it at VND77.98 million per tael. Notably, the gap between buying and selling prices was reduced to only VND1.1 to VND1.5 million per tael.

Gold ring prices at Bao Tin Minh Chau were also revised down to VND73.83 million per tael for buying and VND75.08 million per tael for selling.

The global gold price also decreased by US$7 to US$2,338 per ounce, equivalent to VND71.7 million per tael, about VND6.3 million per tael lower than domestic SJC gold bar prices.
