HCMC police break up major drug trafficking ring

HCMC – The police agency of HCMC’s Tan Binh District confirmed today, April 15, that they had arrested six members of a drug trafficking ring and seized 11 kilograms of illicit drugs and 1,400 meth pills.

The six suspects, Nguyen Thanh Hung, Co Dai Luan, Nguyen Thi Cam Hong, Truong Do Hoang Yen, Le Duc Tai and Phuong A Xuan, aged from 25 to 50, reside in HCMC.

The investigative police agency told the local media that Hung, born in 1979, acted as the mastermind of the ring. He lives in the city’s outlying district of Hoc Mon. Hung transported drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam and delivered them to his partners in the city. He earned a high profit of VND80 million per kilogram of drugs.

Police confiscated various items as evidence as well as three vehicles.

The case is still under investigation.
