HCMC – HCMC is partnering with the U.S. media giant Cable News Network (CNN) to promote its tourism globally.
During a meeting on September 7 with Erin Williams, CNN’s Business Development Director for Southeast Asia, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc emphasized the success of previous partnerships between the city and CNN in promoting tourism through various media platforms.
These partnerships have not only showcased the city’s attractions to international tourists but have also made a positive impact on its tourism sector, Duc said.
However, there is still untapped potential for cooperation between HCMC and CNN, with a focus on creating valuable media products that benefit both parties. The vice chairman expressed his desire to expand the collaboration beyond tourism, aiming for deeper cooperation to explore investment opportunities and highlight the city’s cultural diversity.
He also sought to introduce international audiences to the city’s high-quality agricultural products and goods.
Williams acknowledged the city’s economic potential and expressed CNN’s strong interest in connecting HCMC with international investors.
Williams also conveyed readiness to intensify ties, targeting high-end travelers with extended stays and greater spending power.
CNN would launch communication plans to highlight the city’s cultural richness and unique appeal, reaching global audiences through CNN’s media channels, she added.
