HCMC – The HCMC government has asked the Department of Construction to coordinate with other departments and agencies to quickly remove bottlenecks facing 38 real estate projects in the city as proposed by the HCMC Real Estate Association (HoREA).

The move was made after the city received a request from HoREA for considering the petitions of 29 property firms as their 38 commercial and social housing and resettlement projects were having trouble with paperwork, Thanh Nien Online newspaper reported.

The city government also told the Departments of Construction, Natural Resources-Environment and Planning-Investment to work with the investors of the projects. If the removal of difficulties is beyond their jurisdiction, they should report to the city government.

The results of their work must be reported to the city government within 15 working days.

According to HoREA, the investment and construction procedures for these projects have remained unresolved for years but there are now no signs of moving forward.

Some of the projects have yet to be kicked off due to hindrances to the exchange of resettlement areas for land. The HCMC government has yet to get the resettlement areas done, so enterprises could not complete land procedures for the projects.

Enterprises proposed the city assign the Department of Planning and Investment to complete procedures adjusting projects and the Natural Resources and Environment to complete land handover procedures.

In addition, investors suggested accelerating the completion of administrative procedures, especially the payment of land use fees, the adjustment of land use rights and investment certificates and the update of the 1//2000 planning.

In mid-March, HoREA also wrote to the HCMC government and the Department of Construction, reporting the proposal of 57 property businesses to remove obstacles facing their 64 housing projects.
