HCMC – HCMC will display fireworks from 17 locations, including around 70 low-altitude racks and 1,200 high-altitude shells, during the 15-minute shows starting at 12:00 a.m. on February 17, according to the HCMC People’s Committee.
Four locations will feature both high- and low-altitude fireworks, namely the Saigon River Tunnel entrance on the An Khanh Ward side, the New City Center area in Binh Duong Ward, Tam Thang Square in Vung Tau Ward, and Ba Ria Park Square in Ba Ria Ward.
Other sites include the Cu Chi Tunnels historical site in An Nhon Tay Commune, the administrative center square in Tan My Ward, the Saigon Marina IFC tower on Ton Duc Thang Street, the historical site marking the 1968 Spring Offensive in Tan Nhut Commune, and the Vuon Cau residential area in Lai Thieu Ward.
New launch locations this year include the Green Square urban-commercial complex in Dong Hoa Ward, the Pier 914 historical site on Con Dao Island, the Kim Long villa area in Nha Be Commune, and the Rung Sac Heroes and Martyrs Temple in Can Gio.
The fireworks systems will operate automatically. Technical representatives said the automated control allows precise timing, synchronized displays, and improved safety. The system was also optimized to reduce smoke emissions and improve visibility compared with the previous Lunar New Year programs.
Over the past two days, functional forces installed launch tubes, wirings, and fireworks shells under strict procedures. Officers and soldiers from the HCMC Command handled technical connections to ensure progress.
Fireworks racks were installed with protective barriers and monitored by security personnel. High-altitude launch tubes were positioned toward the central skyline.
