HCMC – The Ministry of Health has sent an urgent dispatch to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposing the latter put in place some anti-Covid requirements before reopening karaoke lounges and dance clubs.
According to the Health Ministry, the reopening of karaoke lounges and dance clubs will depend on the Covid transmission risk levels in areas where they are located.
As karaoke lounges and dance clubs are mainly places with enclosed spaces where Covid can spread easily, the operators must tighten Covid safety and ventilation measures and regularly disinfect their karaoke lounges and dance clubs to prevent the spread of the coronavirus after restarting these services.
According to the Health Ministry’s proposal, guests to these facilities must comply with Covid safety protocols and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the local media reported.
In addition, the operators of karaoke lounges and dance clubs must map out plans to cope with potential coronavirus clusters there to prevent the community spread.
Many cities and provinces have allowed karaoke lounges and dance clubs to reopen, while Hanoi City has yet to resume these services after nearly 10 months.
As such, several owners of karaoke lounges in Hanoi City have recently proposed the authorities allow them to restart operations.
