Health Ministry confirms 16 fresh imported Covid-19 cases

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has reported 16 new imported Covid-19 patients, including 15 Vietnamese and a Russian, who flew to Vietnam from Russia, raising the country’s tally to 1,281 as of tonight, November 15.

Four patients, aged between 25 and 35, returned to Vietnam on flight VN5062 on October 31 and were immediately transported to Hung Yen Province for quarantine after arriving at the Van Don International Airport.

The patients, coming from Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Son La provinces, are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh District.

Eleven other patients, aged from 19 to 54, include residents in Thai Binh, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Daklak, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri and Haiphong, and a Russian expert.

They arrived at the Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province on flight VN5062 and were immediately put under quarantine in Khanh Hoa City. They were found positive for the virus on November 14 and are being treated at Khanh Hoa Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Cam Ranh General Hospital and Ninh Sim Clinic in Khanh Hoa’s Ninh Hoa District.

The remaining patient is a 34-year-old man residing in Ha Tinh Province’s Duc Tho District. He arrived at the Van Don International Airport on flight VN5062 on October 30 and was put under quarantine at Regiment 814 in the northern province of Hoa Binh.

He is being treated at Hoa Binh General Hospital.
