DANANG – The ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province on April 5 welcomed 126 American tourists, the first arrivals from the United States since the country reopened its borders on March 15 after a two-year suspension of international travel induced by the Covid pandemic.

These visitors are joining tours arranged by Asia Charm Travel to the Cau Pagoda, the ancient houses and the Thanh Ha Pottery Village, among other tourist sites.

Besides, Hoi An will receive 50 German travelers on April 7.

After Danang City resumed many international air services, a series of famtrip and presstrip delegations have come to the city and Hoi An.

On March 28, many Thai tour operators traveled to Hoi An to survey tour programs, intending to bring Thai tourists to the country.

“International visitors to Hoi An after the pandemic will help boost the recovery and growth of the tourism sector in the ancient town and accelerate visitors’ confidence in Hoi An as a safe, friendly and impressive tourist destination,” said Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, head of the Hoi An Center for Culture, Sports, Radio and Television.
