Indian billionaire donates US$1 million to assist Vietnamese flood victims

HCMC – Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, India’s largest infrastructure and energy conglomerate, has donated US$1 million to help Vietnamese residents recover from the devastation caused by typhoon Yagi and subsequent flooding.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Adani expressed his deepest condolences to those affected by the disaster.

“Adani Group is committed to contributing US$1 million to the Central Relief Committee to support relief efforts in the northern provinces of Vietnam and at Haiphong Friendship Hospital,” the letter stated.

Adani Group, which is actively involved in several infrastructure projects in Vietnam, has proposed a US$2 billion investment in Lien Chieu Port in Danang. The group is also considering an investment in the Vinh Tan 3 Thermal Power Project, which is expected to cost US$2.8 billion.
