HCMC – The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) inaugurated the first international freight train service from Cao Xa Station in the northern province of Hai Duong this morning.

Tran Anh Tuan, deputy general director of the VNR, highlighted the completion of phase-one upgrade at Cao Xa Station. Over a period of more than two months, VNR has done what is needed to facilitate international freight operations.

The first international train from Cao Xa Station, carrying 12 containers loaded with sulfur, aluminum, and milk, left for Yen Vien Station in Hanoi, where it will seamlessly connect to the international rail line for onward export to China.

Hai Duong is poised to organize the maiden international train transporting lichees to China on May 20, coinciding with the lichee harvest in Thanh Ha District.

Cao Xa Station is the second railway station, after Kep Station in Bac Giang Province, to undergo the initial phase of renovation and upgrade, paving the way for its development into an international railway hub in the future.
