HCMC – Japan has launched a food and agro-forestry-fishery export supporting platform in Vietnam, one of Japan’s key farm produce buyers, to boost Japanese exports to Vietnam.
The launch event was held in HCMC on August 19, with the participation of Yamaguchi Yasushi, deputy head of the export promotion agency of the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Consul General of Japan in HCMC Watanabe Nobuhiro; Matsumoto Nobuyuki, chief representative of JETRO HCMC, and representatives of Vietnamese enterprises.
The platform is aimed at connecting Japanese exporters and importers in Vietnam, helping firms analyze the Vietnamese market and customer demands and promoting new products.
In addition, the the platform will act as a networking place for firms active in the Japanese food industry in Vietnam.
Japan has launched export supporting platforms in Los Angeles and New York in the United States, Thailand, Singapore and Paris. The country plans to establish the platforms in eight other nations and territories by 2023.
