The event is being held by the HCMC Journalists Association, the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports and the Vietnam Press Museum to mark the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2022), the 100th anniversary of Le Paria (April 1, 1922 – April 1, 2022), the 97th anniversary of Vietnam Journalism Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2022).

The young Nguyen Ai Quoc and international revolutionaries coming from other French colonies established the Colonial Union and launched Le Paria newspaper on April 1, 1922. The newspaper operated for four years, from 1922 to 1926, with 38 issues.
