Going beyond conventional ESG practices, Keppel embeds sustainability into every aspect of its business through its sustainability framework that covers Environmental Stewardship, Responsible Business, and People & Community. Guided by Vision 2030, the company pursues clean energy, decarbonisation, and sustainable urban renewal, while upholding strong governance and innovation-driven growth. Equally, Keppel places people at the heart of progress, supporting education, inclusion, and community well-being. Its sustainability framework not only drives business resilience but also delivers lasting impact, a commitment reflected in Keppel’s meaningful CSR initiatives across Vietnam and beyond.
Building lasting values through three CSR pillars
Keppel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program focuses on environmental protection, education and supporting underprivileged communities.
Since 2021, Keppel has launched a series of CSR initiatives with total community contributions exceeding VND17 billion, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Vietnam’s national objectives, such as the country’s Net Zero by 2050 commitment.
In the environmental sphere, the “Living Well” program stands out as a notable example. By installing solar-powered water filtration systems, Keppel has provided clean water for more than 88,000 residents in salt-contaminated areas in nine communes of six provinces of the Mekong Delta, helping alleviate the impacts of climate change.
In education, the “Bytes for Future” initiative, launched in 2024, has donated hundreds of computers and thousands of books, benefiting over 2,000 students in border areas of Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces. At Thanh Binh Primary School (Binh Long Ward, Dong Nai Province), Keppel also funded a new roof and upgraded the computer lab, creating a more conducive learning environment. Over the past five years, Keppel has also sponsored the “Nang Buoc Thu Khoa” scholarship program to support excellent students with financial difficulties in pursuing their university dreams.
Additionally, Keppel organizes experiential tours at its own development projects to help local and international students broaden their knowledge of eco-friendly architecture, nurturing an early appreciation for sustainability future talents.

Keppel is also a sponsor of the Words on Wheels (WoW) mobile library program by the Singapore International Foundation, which aims to promote reading and learning among rural students in HCMC and Hanoi. The program provides access to educational materials, including books, the internet, and multimedia resources, through mobile libraries that visit participating schools. Since its launch in 2011, WoW has reached nearly 38,000 students across 32 schools in Vietnam.
The third pillar, caring for the underprivileged, has been equally impactful through numerous meaningful activities. These include an emergency relief fund of VND1.9 billion, donated by Keppel and other Singapore businesses to support communities affected by Typhoon Yagi, the “Grant-A-Wish” program that brings Christmas joy to disadvantaged children, and annual blood donation drives that have collected thousands of units of blood.

Keppel’s community journey has grown even more meaningful thanks to the strong participation from its employees and partners. For instance, annual blood drives at the Saigon Centre have received enthusiastic responses from tenants, resulting in over 2,300 units of blood collected in recent years. The battery collection initiative across commercial projects has gathered nearly one tonne of used batteries. Through Grant-A-Wish, visitors and tenants purchase gifts based on wish cards for children in shelters, spreading kindness and connection throughout the community.
Keppel’s sustained CSR efforts have enhanced its brand recognition among partners and clients. Beyond contributing to sustainable communities, Keppel has become a preferred partner for investors and customers seeking environmentally responsible and innovative solutions. The strong engagement of tenants and partners in campaigns such as blood donation and battery collection reflects the shared values and collective commitment that Keppel strives to build.
Integrating CSR into a long-term vision
For Keppel, CSR is not a side activity, it is part of how the company grows. Keppel sees sustainability as both a business opportunity and a social responsibility. The goal is simple but ambitious: to build a company that succeeds by helping communities and the environment thrive.
This belief shapes how Keppel plans and invests. The company dedicates up to 1% of its recurring income to activities that generate social values. In 2024 alone, Keppel invested approximately S$4.8 million in global social investment spending and industry advancement.
Keppel also backs its vision with clear goals: sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and ensuring 100% of new suppliers in accordance with ESG criteria.
In Vietnam, those ambitions come to life with practical actions that are aligned with national sustainability goals, such as the government’s plan to plant one billion trees by 2025 and the Net Zero 2050 commitment. Since 2021, Keppel staff in this country have already contributed nearly 9,000 volunteer hours.
Keppel’s approach emphasizes collaboration with reputable organizations and local authorities, ensuring that initiatives not only meet community needs but also comply with local standards and deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes. Keppel’s initiatives are evaluated annually and reported transparently in its Sustainability Report.
For Keppel, CSR is not about obligation. It is about building trust, resilience and long-term values, proof that doing good and doing well can go hand in hand.
