HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang has written to the Government seeking approval for its Ha Tien-Rach Gia expressway project proposal.
The proposed expressway, with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 80 and the endpoint connecting with Lo Te–Rach Soi expressway, Chau Thanh District, Kien Giang Province, will have four lanes and a road width of 24.75 meters.
The Ha Tien-Rach Gia expressway, which is 86-kilometers long, will pass through Ha Tien City and the districts of Kien Luong, Hon Dat, Chau Thanh and Rach Gia City in Kien Giang Province.
The project, which will need a total estimated land area of 634 hectares, including land recovered from around 3,064 households, will get off the ground this year and be executed in four years.
The total investment cost of the Ha Tien-Rach Gia expressway project is estimated at VND25,643 billion which will be funded by the State budget.
When completed, the project will form the second horizontal axis expressway of the Mekong Delta following the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway, connecting with the vertical axis of the North–South expressway in the Mekong Delta.
