HCMC – The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has proposed building an expressway linking its hilly city of Dalat and Khanh Hoa Province’s Nha Trang City to reduce the travel time between these two tourist destinations to just over one hour.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha recently met with the Lam Dong authorities to discuss three proposed expressway projects, including the Nha Trang-Dalat Expressway.
The provincial authorities presented three construction options for the expressway, with its length ranging from 99 to 120 kilometers. The preferred option is 99 kilometers, running parallel with National Highway 27C.
Tran Hoa Nam, vice chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, said the total estimated cost of the project is VND25,058 billion, with 70% coming from the State budget and the remaining 30% from the private sector.
The proposed 99-kilometer expressway would start in Dien Tho Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province, and end at the foot of Prenn Pass in Dalat City, Lam Dong Province.
During the meeting, Deputy PM Ha instructed Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces, the Ministry of Transport, and project investor Son Hai Corporation to further study and finalize the best construction plan for the expressway.
