CANTHO – The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is holding the Mini Thailand Week 2023 to promote trade between Vietnam and Thailand.
The event, held at the Cantho Promotion Agency from March 31, to April 2, features Thai products ranging from food, beverages and home appliances to garments, cosmetics and beauty products.
“The participation of 60 Thai businesses has brought great success to the event. Through the event, I hope Vietnam and Thailand would deepen their strategic partnerships and bilaterally develop socio-economic conditions,” said Nguyen Van Hong, vice chair of the People’s Committee of Can Tho city at the event.
Jakrit Ruangkajorn, Deputy Consul General of Thailand in HCMC, said the event would create favorable conditions for business communities of the two countries to expand networks and seek investment and cooperation opportunities, contributing to local economic development and generating more jobs.
He added that this year marked the 10th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, and the event was part of their efforts to achieve the bilateral trade target of US$25 billion by 2025.
