HCMC – Several 110kV power grid projects have been successfully energized in the southern provinces of Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, and Binh Duong, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

In Dong Thap, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has completed three projects.

On February 27, EVNSPC, in coordination with construction contractors and relevant units, conducted a trial energization of the 110kV Tan Hong substation, part of the 110kV Tan Hong substation and connecting transmission line project.

This project will supply electricity to industrial clusters and provide power to Cambodia.

On February 25, EVNSPC completed the upgrading and renovation of the 110kV Tam Nong substation and successfully put transformer T2 into operation. Additionally, on February 23, the Bay 171 project at the 110kV Tam Nong Substation, part of the 110kV Tam Nong – An Long transmission line, was energized and put into operation.

In Tien Giang, a capacity upgrade project was completed on February 24, replacing a 40MVA T2 transformer with a 63MVA transformer at the 110kV Go Cong Substation in Go Cong City. This upgrade will help address local electricity demand, particularly by ensuring power supply for salinity intrusion mitigation efforts and freshwater pumping during the dry season.

In Ben Tre, EVNSPC successfully energized and conducted technical acceptance for two projects: the 110kV Phu Thuan Substation in Binh Dai District and the 110kV An Hiep Substation, which is part of the 110kV transmission line connecting 220kV Ben Tre to 110kV An Hiep in Chau Thanh District.

In Binh Duong, four power projects were completed, including the 110kV An Lap Substation and its connecting transmission line, the 110kV Thanh An Substation, the 110kV Cong Xanh Substation and its connecting transmission line, and the 110kV VSIP2-MR2 Substation (Vinh Loi Substation).

EVNSPC is currently working with contractors and local authorities to accelerate the progress of connection works and put these projects into operation as soon as possible. Since the start of 2025, EVNSPC has successfully energized 17 power projects across the region.
