MWG makes VND76.5 trillion in revenue in Jan-July

HCMC – Mobile World Investment Corporation, whose MWG shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, obtained VND76.5 trillion in revenue between January and July this year, up by 15% year-on-year and realizing 61% of the full-year plan.

The company’s three main retail chains–Dien May Xanh, Bach Hoa Xanh, and The Gioi Di Dong–have been the primary drivers of revenue generation during this period. Specifically, Dien May Xanh accounted for 46.2% of the firm’s total revenue, Bach Hoa Xanh 30.1%, and The Gioi Di Dong 20.9%.

Restructuring efforts have led to positive business outcomes of the company.

In July, the firm shut down 18 The Gioi Di Dong stores, including Topzone, 59 Dien May Xanh stores, and 94 outlets in the An Khang pharmacy chain.

In the first seven months of the year, the Thegioididong chain reduced its store count by 43, Dien May Xanh cut 150 stores, and An Khang closed 140 stores.

Closing the trading session today, August 26, MWG edged down by 0.29% to VND69,800 per share, with over 5.96 million shares changing hands.

On the southern exchange, the VN-Index lost 5.3 points, or 0.41%, against the final session last week, at 1,280.02 points, with 148 winners and 259 losers.

Around 775.5 million shares worth VND18.3 trillion were transacted, up by 6.98% in volume and 8.7% in value. Block deal transactions contributed VND1.7 trillion to the overall value.

The VN30 basket underperformed, with 21 stocks falling and only six rising. However, Vingroup’s trio of stocks helped buoy the market. VHM increased by 1.9%, VRE by 1.8%, and VIC by 1.4%.

On the northern market, the HNX-Index fell by 1.1 points, or 0.46%, at 238.97 points, with 63 advancers and 89 decliners. The trade volume totaled 55.5 million shares worth a combined VND1.05 trillion.
