HCMC – NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue departed Hanoi on August 4 to attend the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44) and official visits to Indonesia.

The four-day trip, from August 4 to 8, was made at the invitations of Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and AIPA President Puan Maharani, and Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

During the visit, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will participate in the opening ceremony and deliver a speech at the first plenary session of the AIPA Executive Council. He will also hold talks with AIPA President Puan Paharani and engage in various bilateral activities.

As part of the official visit to Indonesia, Hue is expected to hold talks with Puan Paharani and sign the agreement on cooperation between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Indonesia. Additionally, he will have a meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

AIPA serves as the communication and information hub among legislative bodies of Southeast Asian countries. Vietnam has been a member of AIPA since 1995.

Vietnam and Indonesia established a strategic partnership in 2013, and they are significant trading partners within ASEAN, with Indonesia being Vietnam’s third-largest trading partner and Vietnam being Indonesia’s fourth-largest trading partner in the region.
