HCMC – The Ministry of Health this evening, April 10, reported 28,307 new Covid cases, with all of them being locally-infected, down more than 5,800 cases against yesterday.
Hanoi City still recorded the highest number of new cases, at 2,181, followed by Bac Giang with 1,533, Nghe An with 1,525 and Yen Bai with 1,510.
Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and Quang Ninh also had over 1,000 cases each.
So far Vietnam has reported nearly 10.2 million Covid cases.
Today, nearly 35,000 Covid patients were announced to have recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to over 8.5 million.
The Ministry of Health today also reported 19 new Covid deaths, the lowest since August last year.
In related news, 921,600 Covid vaccine doses for children aged between five and 11, donated by Australia, arrived at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on April 8.
The batch, which was among the 20 million vaccine doses for children, will be administered to sixth graders. The second batch will arrive in Vietnam on April 12.
