HCMC – The Ministry of Health this evening, June 11, confirmed 710 fresh Covid infections, down by 251 against yesterday.
Hanoi City remained the largest coronavirus hotbed with 176 cases, followed by Yen Bai with 60 and Nghe An with 53. The remainder were detected in 36 other cities and provinces.
The health authority of Ben Tre in the day registered to add 853 Covid cases detected earlier to the national Covid monitoring system.
Over 7,320 patients were declared free of the disease today, taking the total recoveries in the country to more than 9.5 million. One Covid death was reported in Tay Ninh Province.
In related news, the HCMC government has issued a dispatch adding some groups of people prioritized for the fourth Covid vaccine shot.
Apart from previously prioritized groups of people such as those aged 50 or older, people aged 18 and older with immunodeficiency and those at risk of infection, including frontline forces and workers in industrial parks, teachers, public employees and civil servants can now get the fourth dose.
HCMC was the first locality in the country to launch the fourth shot drive, which started from May 18, the local media reported.
