BenThanh Tourist has named New Zealand its 2026 “Tour of the Year” destination after the country received the most votes in a survey of more than 35,000 Vietnamese travelers.
The Tour of the Year program, now in its third edition, is built entirely on direct customer voting to shape new travel products. New Zealand topped the poll with 4,932 votes following an 11-month survey, ahead of Japan, France, South Korea and China. Other strongly supported destinations included Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United States.
Based on survey results, the company has introduced two itineraries for 2026: a six-day Northern New Zealand tour covering Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua, Hobbiton and Hamilton, priced at VND94.99 million; and an eight-day North–South route visiting Auckland, Rotorua, Queenstown and Christchurch, priced at VND130.99 million. Both packages use China Southern Airlines and feature 4–5-star accommodations.
BenThanh Tourist said the tours highlight natural landscapes and cultural experiences, including the Waitomo Glowworm Cave, Rotorua’s geothermal sites, Milford Sound, and adventure activities in Queenstown, along with Māori rituals and farm visits.
To stimulate early bookings, BenThanh Tourist is offering discounts of VND15 million per traveler at the launch event and VND10 million afterward, valid through December 31, 2025, with limited availability.
