Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, vice chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee, called the flower street a cultural symbol of the city’s dynamism, creativity, and sense of community during the Lunar New Year.

The event also marks significant anniversaries, including the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s founding, the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam’s south and the reunification of the country.

Thousands of people gather early on central streets, waiting to enter the flower street
At the entrance, two intertwined snake mascots, a 25-meter-long Ngan Ty and a 42-meter-long Kim Ty, form a base measuring over 11 meters wide and six meters high. Ngan Ty and Kim Ty were crafted using 70% eco-friendly materials.
Nang Ty, a separate 50-meter-long and more than 10-meter-high green snake model, inspired by the subtle elegance of a Southern Vietnamese woman, serves as a central feature
Dressed in traditional attire with a checkered scarf and conical hat, Nang Ty takes inspiration from a cobra, standing tall and majestic. Her green coloration symbolizes life and growth.
The Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025 features around 90 representations of the snake in various forms and expressions, most of which are located behind the flower street’s main entrance
Other highlights include a robot adorned with dried flowers, LED facial expressions, and New Year greetings
