HCMC – Nhon-Hanoi Station Metro Line has begun its test run, marking a significant step towards the commencement of commercial service on its elevated section, scheduled in June.
The Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB) has announced that the trial run is the final step out of eight required procedures before the elevated section becomes operational.
Starting from March 11, the test run lasts one and a half months, with operational hours set from 7:45 to 16:45, Monday to Friday.
The test comprises three phases, each focusing on different operational scenarios, including normal conditions, restricted conditions and emergency conditions.
There will be 57 scenarios for the three stages, the execution of which will be evaluated by the consultant.
Participating in the trial run are the MRB, the investor, Systra as the consultant, and the Hanoi Metro One Member Company Limited.
According to MRB, the evaluation and certification of the Nhon-Hanoi Station Metro Line’s safety comply with European standards and Vietnamese regulations.
Following safety certification, the MRB will submit the dossier to the Ministry of Transport for further evaluation, paving the way for authorities to decide on commercial operation.
In response to instructions from Hanoi authorities, the MRB has accelerated the test run, inspection, and project handover to ensure the commercial operation of the 8.5-km Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line by June.
