HCMC – The first nine modules manufactured by Doosan Vina, a high-tech industrial complex in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Ngai, were delivered to the Sarawak Petrochemical Refinery in Malaysia on April 14.
These modules, weighing 709 tons in total, were completed after nine months of production. Of them, the largest module weighs 118 tons, and is 43 meters long, 13,7 meters high and 11,5 meters wide. Once the installation is completed, these modules will become a complete oil and gas pipeline system at the Methanol plant of the Sarawak Petrochemical Refinery.
The Sarawak project was signed with Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd (SECL) on June 4 last year, involving the fabrication and supply of nearly 10,000 tons of equipment, including steel structures, pipes and racks of the power system formed into 34 modules and one reformer for the Methanol plant of the Sarawak Petrochemical Refinery complex (with a capacity of 5,000 tons of chemical products per day), located in the coastal city of Bintulu, Sarawak state, Malaysia.
As planned, the whole project will be manufactured in 15 months with five shipments and is set to conclude in November this year.
Back in March 2020, Doosan Vina supplied two projects of WHRP and CFP for SECL, including 39 modules weighing nearly 6,000 tons. These modules are now on a mission to increase flexibility in crude oil processing at the Ruwais Refinery in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
