HCMC – One person was killed and 10 others were injured after a passenger coach rear-ended a trailer truck on National Highway 1 in Phu Yen Province’s Song Cau Town today, March 3.
The deceased was the driver of the passenger coach, who was identified as a resident of Binh Dinh Province, named Nguyen Van Chin and aged 48, the local media reported.
The rear-end crash occurred at 5.10 a.m. on the day while the two vehicles were moving northward on the national highway, said Nguyen Phuong Dong, director of the Phu Yen Department of Transport.
The crash also destroyed the front of the passenger coach.
After being notified of the accident, competent forces were quickly dispatched to the scene to hospitalize the injured and investigate the deadly accident, Dong said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Phu Yen police found that the driver of the passenger coach was driving at a breakneck speed, leading to the fatal accident.
