HCMC – The HCMC tourism authority and businesses have welcomed 123 tourists from South Africa who came under a meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) program and are staying in the city between August 11 and 14.
The MICE guests are executives and employees of the ABSA Group, a financial services company based in South Africa, reported Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.
According to the itinerary of the MICE tour, jointly organized by Superior Choices and Asian Trails companies, the guests will stay at the InterContinental Saigon hotel, attend meetings, enjoy local food, take a city tour by bus or Vespa scooters, and a yacht cruise along the Saigon River.
The ABSA director expressed his gratitude to the city’s tourism authority and tour operator for the warm welcome and ensuring safety during the tour, and promised to return to HCMC soon.
Besides visiting the southern hub of Vietnam, the MICE delegation is also seeking investment opportunities in the city.
As shared by the HCMC Department of Tourism, in recent years, MICE tourism in HCMC has received many prestigious awards. For instance, HCMC was named Asia’s best MICE tourism destination 2021.
