HCMC – More than 80% of factories at 31 industrial parks (IP) in Dong Nai Province have restarted production after they had been suspended for several months due to the fourth wave of Covid-19 infections, according to the Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority (DIZA).
Since the end of September, nearly 1,400 of over 1,700 IP firms in this southern province have resumed operations, and over 334,000 workers, around 54% of the total, have returned to work at the IPs.
Among them, many large companies by employment have also restarted their production after nearly three months of suspension.
According to DIZA, the province has prioritized administering Covid vaccines to workers and supported businesses by eliminating obstacles to restore their production at the earliest.
In addition, the provincial government has announced a plan to gradually help socioeconomic activities recover, allow enterprises to proactively select appropriate production plans and permit workers to use their private vehicles to commute to work, among others.
