Over VND109 trillion for post-pandemic economic recovery

HCMC – Following several proposals over financial and monetary policies for the post-Covid socio-economic recovery and development, the Government plans to spend some VND109.2 trillion on this purpose.

Of the total, VND87.5 trillion will be allocated to the traffic infrastructure sector, according to a draft prepared by the Ministry of Planning and Investment to report the plan to the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Six projects to be funded by this source are the Eastern North-South expressway in the 2021-2025 period, the Cao Lanh-An Huu expressway, the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway, the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway and the Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang.

The rest of the relief package will be spent on social welfare, labor and occupation projects and support for firms, cooperatives and household businesses.

The Government affirms that the capital disbursement of these projects will be conducted in the 2022-2023 period, the local media reported.
