HCMC – Some sections of the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway in Dong Nai Province will be temporarily opened to traffic by late November, according to the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC).

VEC has asked the Department for Roads of Vietnam for approval for a traffic management plan along a seven-kilometer section between Phuoc An and National Highway 51. When this section is put into service, road users can bypass the oft-congested Nhon Trach T-junction on National Highway 51.

Other sections of the expressway, such as A5, A6 and A7, are approaching completion. Package A5 is currently under inspection, package A7 is mostly finished, and package A6, divided into smaller components, will be fully completed by January 2025.

Designed to alleviate congestion on National Highway 51 and the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, the 57.8-kilometer Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway project began construction in July 2014, with a total cost of nearly VND29.6 trillion.
