HCMC – Party General Secretary To Lam has called for concerted efforts to achieve GDP growth of more than 8% this year, paving the way for potential double-digit growth from 2026 to 2030.

Speaking at a meeting of the Secretariat under the Party Central Committee (PCC) today, February 4, Lam stressed prompt action on public investment disbursement and addressing challenges to socio-economic development.

He called for immediate implementation of solutions from the beginning of the year, noting the need to gauge consumer demand to better manage production and stimulate domestic consumption.

Among the priorities, Lam emphasized a swift return to work after the Lunar New Year holiday, discouraging prolonged celebrations that could impact productivity.

He also addressed concerns about governance, calling for stricter law enforcement, improved traffic management, and a crackdown on cyber fraud and other crimes.

Vietnam’s top leader underscored the importance of implementing Conclusion 121 of the 13th PCC, concerning the restructuring of the political system as outlined in Resolution 18 of the 12th PCC. This endeavor, he said, should ensure a seamless transition and uninterrupted public services.

Lam emphasized preparing the agenda for this month’s extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, focusing on the restructuring and addressing institutional bottlenecks. Relevant agencies are tasked with developing appropriate policies for affected personnel.

He also urged accelerated implementation of Politburo Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, especially targets for the first quarter of 2025.
