HCMC – A spring fair in celebration of the Lunar New Year, or Tet, will be opened on January 15 along the Crescent Lake in the Phu My Hung urban area in District 7, HCMC.
With the theme “Xuan Phon Vinh” (Prosperous Spring), the organizer of the Phu My Hung spring fair wishes visitors a more peaceful and prosperous new year.
The theme “Prosperous Spring” is also linked to a story about the 30-year establishment and development of the modern Phu My Hung urban area, which used to be a swamp in the south of HCMC.
The main theme will be displayed on Spring Street along the Crescent Lake, with colorful decorative miniatures featuring three major topics: Phu, My, and Hung, which mean prosperity, beauty and brighter future.
The 11-day spring fair will also comprise a large stage where the opening ceremony and a wide range of cultural and art performances will take place.
It will also include a Tet flower market from the 23rd to the 30th of the 12th lunar month to serve the shopping demand of residents in Phu My Hung town and those living in the southern part of HCMC. The Tet flower market will feature some 145 booths selling a wide selection of flowering plants and bonsai trees supplied by local farmers in HCMC and the southern provinces such as Ben Tre and Dong Thap.
The 2023 Phu My Hung spring fair is expected to be an attractive destination for city dwellers and people from neighboring provinces. The fair also marks the launch of multiple events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Phu My Hung Development Corporation.
