HCMC – The central province of Quang Nam reported five new community-transmitted Covid-19 cases this afternoon, July 30, taking the province’s tally to eight.
All of the fresh cases are caregivers of patients at Danang Hospital.
The 460th patient is a 49-year-old woman residing in Dai Nghia Commune, Dai Loc District. She took care of her husband at the hospital from July 18 to 20, and developed symptoms such as headache, fatigue and sore throat on July 23.
The 461st patient, 45, lives in Son Phong Ward, Hoi An City. She took care of her mother at the hospital from July 13 to 14.
The 462nd patient, 53, and the 463rd patient, 45, both living in Hoi An City, visited their father, who is the 428th Covid-19 patient, at the hospital on July 21 and July 24.
The 464th patient, 69, resides in Minh An Ward, Hoi An City. She visited the 428th patient on July 18.
Their samples were taken for Covid-19 testing on July 28, according to the Ministry of Health.
Up to now, Vietnam has reported 464 Covid-19 cases and 369 of them have fully recovered.
In the second Covid-19 wave, Danang is still the hardest hit locality with 34 cases, followed by Quang Nam with eight cases.
Both Hanoi and HCMC have reported two new cases, while Quang Ngai and Daklak have one case each.
Following some other pandemic-hit localities, the HCMC government has decided to close all 180 bars and dance clubs in the city from midnight.
The city also suspends large gatherings such as festivals, fairs and conventions. The citizens are asked to wash their hands regularly and avoid gatherings of more than 30 persons.
