HCMC – The Ministry of Health confirmed 45 new locally-transmitted Covid-19 patients, who are hospital patients, caregivers and visitors at Danang-based hospitals, this morning, July 31, the most infections recorded in a single day so far.

Among the 45 fresh cases, aged from 27 to 87, 33 patients were discovered at Danang Hospital, four were reported at Danang Lung Hospital and two cases at Danang Oncology Hospital.

Four others were discovered at a hotel requisitioned as a quarantine center for Danang Hospital’s patients receiving treatment for kidney failure in Son Tra District, while the remaining two patients were confirmed as positive for the coronavirus at the Cam Le Healthcare Center.

The cases, tagged from the 465th to 509th, were discovered to be infected with the virus while they are under quarantine, posing no risk of a wider spread of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The test results of the 45 new patients, whose samples had earlier been taken by the Danang Center for Disease Control for Covid-19 testing, came out positive on July 30.

Since the start of the second Covid-19 wave, Vietnam has reported 93 community-transmitted Covid-19 cases, seeing Danang City become the hardest hit locality with 79 cases.

Among the 509 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Vietnam, 369 patients have fully recovered.
