HCMC – On December 22, the Quang Nam People’s Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism wrapped up the National Tourism Year 2022.
The National Tourism Year 2022, Vietnam’s biggest tourism event, was carried out under the theme Quang Nam – A Green Tourism Destination.
The program aimed to boost connectivity among localities and aid the recovery of Quang Nam’s and the nation’s tourism industry.
As part of the program, there were 210 tourist events held across the country, 73 of which were in Quang Nam.
This year, Vietnam has welcome some 3.5 million international visitors, over 101.3 million domestic travelers, and obtained nearly VND495 trillion in revenue.
Quang Nam alone saw a year-on-year 13-fold rise in visitor volume at 4.8 million, and revenue of VND3,800 billion, up eight times in value from 2021.
Le Tri Thanh, chairman of Quang Nam Province, said the National Tourism Year 2022 was a chance for Quang Nam and other localities to promote tangible and intangible cultural values and tourist products to the public and raise awareness over eco-friendly tourism.
During the closing ceremony, Quang Nam was picked to host the National Startup Year 2023 with the theme, “Spreading the startup spirit”.
Meanwhile, Binh Thuan will host the next National Tourism Year 2023 with the theme “Binh Thuan – Green Convergence”.
