HCMC – The government of Quang Tri Province has urged relevant agencies to expedite land clearance for the Van Ninh-Cam Lo Expressway project that passes through the central province, with the handover of cleared land set for June 30.
In early March, local authorities completed land clearance for a 24.8-kilometer section of the road or 76% of the total. The slower-than-expected site clearance is attributed to the slow process of resettlement.
The relevant agencies have been assigned to publicly announce compensation rates for land and hold meetings to draw up appropriate resettlement plans and gain consent from affected households.
The Van Ninh-Cam Lo Expressway is nearly 66 kilometers long, with a 32.5-kilometer section passing through the central province of Quang Tri. Work on the project started on January 1 this year.
According to the local media, 477 households will be resettled to implement the project in Quang Tri Province.
