HCMC – Relax Underwear brand of HCMC-based Son Viet Garment Corporation has carried out various programs to support underprivileged children, who lack access to quality education and other basic needs, in many parts of the country. Such activities have brought joy to disadvantaged children, encouraging them to overcome difficulties to pursue their studies and become good citizens.
“For the Children’s Smiles” program
Every child is the pride of his/her family, a contributor for the society and the future of the country; and every child has the rights to study and entertain to develop comprehensively and contribute to the society’s development. However, there are still many children that lack access to education and other basic needs. They are really in need of a helping hand from the community.
In celebration of the International Children’s Day (June 1) last year, Relax Underwear collaborated with the 2030 Business Club to organize the For the Children’s Smiles program to bring happiness and meaningful gifts to needy children in HCMC. The event took place at the International School of North America in Binh Chanh District with the participation of more than 300 children and their parents.
During the program, Relax Underwear and the 2030 Business Club gave over 300 valuable gift sets to the children with the hope that they could have a meaningful International Children’s Day. Besides the exciting gifts, the children also had a chance to play interactive games, such as the Monopoly board game which enabled them to learn necessary skills including negotiation and money management.
“By organizing interactive games during the event, Relax Underwear expects to bring the children closer and encourage them to interact and share joys with each other,” said Ha Xuan Anh, chairman of Son Viet Garment Corporation.
“Wild Sunflower Sunshine” program in Lam Dong
Relax Underwear collaborated with the Startup-Human Resources Club to organize the Wild Sunflower Sunshine program in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong from June 1-3, 2019, during which they donated more than 170 gift sets to poor children in Lang Bang, a remote mountainous village in Son Dien Commune, Di Linh District. The organizers also gave 15 gift sets to needy families in the village, each containing rice, instant noodle, milk, notebooks, pens and socks.
Moreover, volunteers from Relax Underwear and the Startup-Human Resources Club organized folk games for the children and planted more than 100 trees in the region during the three-day program.
Lang Bang is one of the poorest village in Di Linh District, where the children have very limited access to education.
“What made me feel happy and remember the most is the children’s smiles. Their smiles looked like wild sunflowers blooming in the sunshine of the Central Highlands, wild and simple but very beautiful,” a Relax Underwear volunteer recalled.
The 14th 2030 Charitable Caravan tour
Relax Underwear was one of the major sponsors of the 14th 2030 Charitable Caravan tour, which was organized by the 2030 Business Club from April 27 to May 1, 2019.
During the five-day program, the organizers donated 700 bicycles and 1,000 gift sets to poor children with excellent performance at school in the Mekong Delta provinces of Long An and Dong Thap. The gift sets comprised necessities such as schoolbags, notebooks, water bottles, stationery and rain coats.
They also provided free health examinations and medicines to disadvantaged students, who had limited access to quality healthcare.
“Relax Underwear and other members of the 2030 Business Club hope that the program can bring joy to poor children in remote areas and give wings to their dreams on the long way ahead,” Ha Xuan Anh said.
