HCMC – The HCMC government has allowed restaurants and eateries in low or moderate-risk areas to offer alcoholic drinks on a pilot basis.

Under the city’s pilot plan, which is effective between now and the end of this month, restaurants and eateries must meet Covid-19 safety requirements and shut before 10 p.m.

In high-risk areas, the alcoholic drink ban remains in place and restaurants can only operate at half capacity.

In extremely high-risk areas, restaurants are prohibited from providing dine-in services.

After the pilot, the governments of Thu Duc City and districts will review the plan and report it to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and the municipal government.

Earlier, the HCMC government had allowed restaurants and eateries in District 7 and Thu Duc City to pilot offering alcoholic drinks.

Several days ago, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade proposed allowing all restaurants and eateries citywide to offer alcoholic drinks again if they meet safety requirements.
