HCMC – The South Korean Government via the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will offer financial support to help the central city of Hue carry out a project called “Building Hue into a smart cultural and tourism city”.
The project has a total capital of US$13 million and reciprocal capital of around VND41.7 billion of Thua Thien Hue province and Hue City.
It will consist of five aspects, comprising the establishment of a smart cultural and tourism axis for the city, a pilot project at the complex cultural area of Da Vien Island, a smart lighting system and surveillance camera along the Huong River bank, a public administrative capacity building for tourism development and urban management and project management.
The project implementation by experienced Korean consultancy and management companies is currently underway.
Nguyen Van Phuong, chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Province People’s Committee, said the project is important to Hue City and Thua Thien Hue Province as the city is accelerating its economic development, simultaneously achieving the sustainability and harmony of conservation and development and protection of the natural ecosystem.
This is the third project in the province funded by the South Korean Government in the past few years.
