HCMC – An exhibition displaying 30 photos selected from the “Heritage and You” photography festival held by Sai Gon Tiep Thi, a publication of the Saigon Times Group, in collaboration with Nam A Bank, was opened at the head office of the group in HCMC on September 20.
Within the framework of the exhibition, which is open to the public until the end of the year, the organizer announced the top three photos voted for by the readers of Sai Gon Tiep Thi.
Pham Quoc Tuan won the first prize worth VND3 million for his photo, “Keep peace for Hoi An ancient town.” Though not showing up at the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Tuan sent a big thank you to the organizers of the photo festival and readers via a video clip, calling on people to take tours to Hoi An City to experience the green tourism industry there.
The photography festival initiated in early July, when the coronavirus outbreak had been brought under control in Vietnam, was aimed at encouraging Vietnamese people to travel around the country and preserve its heritage sites as well as to help the tourism sector recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
In late July, as Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, reemerged in the country, the organizers of the photo festival expanded its scope to include photos with more diverse topics including a positive view over the fight against the pandemic or an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
