Quang Binh breaks ground on wind farms worth over VND8.9 trillion

Must read

HCMC – The provincial government of Quang Binh and B&T Wind Power JSC on September 20 started the construction of a wind power farm cluster, which will span over 2,224 hectares of land in the central province’s Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts and require an investment of VND8.904 trillion.

This is the largest foreign-invested onshore wind project in the country, reported Bnews news website.

The project will be completed in three packages—the provision, transport and operation of 50 turbines by the Dutch-based contractor Vestars, the construction of the turbine foundation and wire system by Facon Vietnam Construction JSC and the construction of a 220kV substation and transmission line by V.Tech Vietnam Co., Ltd.

The project includes two wind farms. The first one, B&T 1, will have a capacity of 100.8 MW and is scheduled for operation in December this year. The second farm, B&T 2, is slated for completion in June next year, with a capacity of 151.2 MW.

Tran Cong Thuan, chairman of the provincial government, said the project is expected to supplement power to the province, help ensure national energy security and contribute to the provincial budget by VND120 billion per year.

Further, the project is expected to become a tourist hotspot and attract more major investors to Quang Binh.
