“Saigon Times – Great Circle” hands over anti-epidemic items to Dak Nong border guards

Must read

HCMC – On August 21, representatives of the Saigon Times Group, organizer of the “Saigon Times – Great Circle” program, and donors – Nam A Bank, Saigon Times Startup and Innovation Club and DQ Fashion—handed over essential anti-epidemic products to the border guards of Dak Nong Province to motivate the frontline forces in the fight against the pandemic.

Major Tran Dang Khoa from the Border Guard of Dak Nong Province said the Central Highlands locality is home to the 141-kilometer-long borderline shared with Cambodia. Some 20 checkpoints and patrol teams have been set up to carry out border pandemic prevention and fighting activities. Manning these checkpoints is difficult, especially during the rainy season, and medical supplies such as masks, disinfectants, etc are always in short supply.

Previously, the program reached Binh Phuoc Province— home to the longest borderline in the southern region at 260 kilometers—where the program donated medical supplies and necessities such as masks and disinfectants to the border guard forces there.

“Since Covid-19 broke out in Vietnam, Nam A Bank has carried out many activities to help prevent the spread of the virus among the community,” a representative of Nam A Bank, one of the main donors of the program, stated, adding, “Such a donation is very practical. It not only provides items to people in need but also motivates the frontline forces in the war against the pandemic.”

The next trips will be conducted in the next few days to the borderlines across the southern provinces.

These activities are part of the “Saigon Times – Great Circle” program’s third phase titled “Together we win Covid-19”, aimed at continuing to support the society win the war against Covid-19.

This follows the success of the program’s first phase that sought to help poverty-stricken people overcome the hardships caused by the pandemic earlier this year and the second phase titled “Together with Vietnam’s Tourism”.

The third phase kicked off from mid-August and will focus on sharing the difficulties of those who are at the frontlines in the fight against the novel coronavirus along with the support of the business community and other donors.

For this purpose, the Saigon Times Group is calling on its readers—businesses and individuals alike—to participate in the program.
