HCMC – Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank, or SeABank, whose shares are traded on the HCMC Stock Exchange under the code SSB, has named Loic Faussier, a French national, as CEO of the bank.
He began his two-year tenure on January 3, the local media reported.
Loic has 25 years’ experience in working for major banks and financial institutions in France, Hong Kong and Japan.
In Vietnam, he used to serve as deputy general director at VIB. Before being picked as CEO at SeABank, Loic had worked as deputy general director for the bank’s business operations since July 2022.
Loic is holding 200,000 SSB shares worth VND6.6 billion.
Between January and September last year, SeABank obtained over VND4 trillion in pre-tax profit, up 58.7% year-on-year.
SSB continued its upward spiral to gain over 0.45% at the close today, January 5.
With 241 winners and 159 losers, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange improved 9.47 points, or 0.91%, from the session earlier, at 1,055.82, driven by the positive performance of many bluechips.
Over 535 million shares valued at VND9.2 trillion changed hands, down 17% in volume and 12% in value against the previous session.
In the VN30 basket, 25 tickers ended up, with electricity firm POW going up to its ceiling price and taking the lead by liquidity on bourse with a matching volume of 23.6 million shares.
Lenders STB and TPB, dairy firm VNM, retailer VRE and steelmaker HPG also performed well.
On the Hanoi exchange, the HNX-Index rose a fractional 0.02%, or 0.05 point, from the previous session, at 213.11, with 76 advancers and 81 decliners.
Among the drivers were apparel manufacturer TNG and construction firm CEO.
Securities firm SHS was the most actively traded stock, with 12 million shares changing hands, but stood at the reference price.
