HCMC – The Ba Ria-Vung Tau Party Committee has chosen April 30 next year as the groundbreaking date for a section of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway.
The 19.5-kilometer section that will run through the province will have six lanes and require a total investment of VND5.2 trillion. The road will be opened to traffic on June 20, 2025, after 27 months of construction.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Viet Thanh said that the site clearance and compensation processes must be completed prior to the 2023 Lunar New Year holiday, the local media reported.
The first phase of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway, which is 53.7 kilometers long and divided into three sections, will link Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces. The third section in Ba Ria-Vung Tau is to be executed first. The expressway project will cost VND18 trillion.
The execution of the third section will require over 153 hectares of land to be cleared and affect more than 1,200 households in My Xuan Ward, Toc Tien, Hac Dich and Chau Pha communes in Phu My Town, and Tan Hung and Hoa Long communes in Ba Ria City.
