HCMC – Several provinces, including Quang Ninh, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Lam Dong, and Con Dao Island off Ba Ria-Vung Tau will reopen their doors to inter-provincial tourists in the next few days.
Con Dao Island off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is set to welcome the first tourists onboard chartered flights from HCMC on October 15 and 16. These visitors will stay for seven days at the Six Senses Con Dao.
They must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with the second Covid-19 vaccine shot administered at least 14 days before arrival.
During the same period, several resorts and tourist areas in Xuyen Moc District will also welcome the first visitors taking roadway tours, the local media reported.
Besides, the government of Quang Binh Province on October 11 issued guidelines on tourism. Under the guidance, the province will serve visitors arriving from areas which are not applying the social distancing order in line with the prime minister’s Directive 16, starting from this month.
The northern-central province will only allow tourists who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with the second dose administered at least two weeks before their arrival, or those who have recovered from the disease, and test negative from Covid through a RT-PCR test.
Meanwhile, the northern province of Thanh Hoa will pilot reopening two resorts–FLC Sam Son and Pu Luong–to serve inter-provincial tourists, starting from October. The pilot program will be expanded to other sites in November.
Elsewhere, Quang Ninh Province will begin piloting the reopening of tourism to visitors arriving from localities that are safe from Covid after the province completes vaccinating its residents in November.
Pham Ngoc Thuy, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said that from now until the end of 2021, the province will organize 50 events and tourism-related programs to promote tourism.
In the initial stage, tourists from Haiphong, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong and Thai Nguyen and other Covid-safe localities can travel to Quang Ninh. The province targets to welcome 1.5-2 million travelers in the fourth quarter of this year.
Apart from meeting all the requirements mentioned above, tourists must take a group tour arranged by a tour operator and only travel to tourist sites permitted to welcome visitors by the local authorities.
Another locality set to reopen inter-provincial tourism is Lam Dong Province. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has drawn up a plan to roll out tourism promotion programs.
Under the plan, the Central Highlands province will welcome tourists from November, but these tourists will stay at limited lodging facilities and travel to limited tourist destinations.
In addition, only tourists who buy a full-package tour from a tour operator, have been fully vaccinated against Covid or have recovered from the disease and have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test will be allowed to travel to the province.
